2021 Draft Prospects: Rakeem Boyd - RB/ Feleipe Franks QB - Arkansas

Arkansas Pro Day 3.10

Rakeem Boyd – RB

Feleipe Franks – QB

Rakeem Boyd – RB – RSSR - 5'11 213 lb. - #5 > My Projected RB11 Round 5

The former 4-star prospect out of Stratford High School spent his Freshman season at Texas A&M redshirted before his academics became a real issue. Unable to meet his grades he was ultimately forced to transfer out, landing at Independence Community College (ICC). During his time at ICC Boyd was the main attraction on the Netflix series Last Chance U in which he caught the eyes and attention of the Arkansas scouting department. The exposure Boyd received in his single season in Junior College via Last Chance U along with his dominance in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) Boyd finds himself leading the Arkansas Razorbacks in rushing in back to back seasons. Feleipe Franks – QB – RSSR – 6’6 234 lb. - #13 > My Projected QB8 Round 6

The once top five quarterback prospect in the nation coming out of High School was bombarded with offers from top programs such as Florida State, Clemson, Alabama, and LSU. The highly rated, dual threat ultimately chose to join the Florida Gators football team while being redshirted his first season. After a carousel of quarterbacks couldn’t get the job done Franks won the starting job as a Redshirt Freshman and held the starting spot for two seasons with a record of 14-10 and a Peach Bowl Victory. (2018 – 10-3) After a season ending injury in only the third game of 2019 Franks announces it's time to move on and transfers to Arkansas. The former High School baseball star was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 2019 when he declined to continue his football career. The baseball background leads to believe the scouts love his natural strong arm. Being a good athlete doesn’t always land you in the NFL, but the lack of quarterback talent outside of the top four might find Franks as the next best thing or project player. He’s tall for his position, moves well for his size, maneuvers the pocket at a plus level, and can contribute with his legs on any play.
