Week 1 of the NFL slate has some interesting match-ups that we will look to exploit. Without a preseason to see teams in action the first few weeks should tell us a lot.
Our first selection we are going to the AFC East and the Buffalo Bills. The Bills offense was the discussion of the off season with the addition of Diggs, however Buffalo had one of the best defenses in the NFL last year. They have speed and athleticism at every position and I look for them to finish in the top ten again in all defensive categories.
Back to Buffalo's offense and Stefon Diggs. This acquisition finally gives Josh Allen a true go to receiver. Diggs not only gives them more athleticism and speed on the outside, he now opens up the other lanes for Beasley and Brown the two leading receivers from last years team.
The Buffalo Bills should be able to score on a NY Jets team that is without Jamal Adams and several other key players from last years defense. Offensively the Jets are going to be leaning on Sam Darnold to lead them without Robby Anderson against the talented Buffalo secondary. What was one of the worst offenses in the NFL has regressed against a stout Buffalo defense.
Official Bet: Buffalo Bills -6
Our second official pick will be an NFC North showdown between the Packers and the Vikings. This should be a good ole fashioned grind it out game. Both teams will choose to run first and use play action to get behind the opposing defenses. Minnesota will lean even more on the run this year with the departure of Diggs. Without a proven number two wide receiving option on either side both teams will key on the oppositions number one receiver and force someone else to beat them. Both defenses were in the top ten in points allowed per game in 2019 and I see that continuing in 2020.
Official Bet: Packers / Vikings Under 45.5
