I can not believe we are already at week 11 of the NFL season! This year we are 18-8 coming off of a 2-0 sweep last week. We hope for another big week this week as we will have three plays in the NFL!
Our first selection is between the Indianapolis Colts and the Green Bay Packers. The Colts are coming off of a very impressive road win against the Tennessee Titans where they basically dominated the second half and ran away with it. The Pakcers on the other hand squeaked by a Jaguars team that frankly they should have handled rather easily.
Green Bay has a powerful offense that will be returning Allen Lazard which should open up more room for Davante Adams to sneak in behind the linebackers in 1v1 coverage. Lazard is averaging 19 yards per catch and when you pair that with Valdez-Scantling who is leading the league at 21 yards per catch it gives the Packers three weapons that can hurt you at every level.
This match up will come down to the Colts offense against the Packers defense. We hear a lot of talk about the Packers offense but the defense is 9th in yards allowed and top 15 in just about every other significant category. On the flip side I think that Rivers will have to eventually make a play to win this game and I do not think he will. I think the Packers win outright but again this week we are getting points so I am taking those!
Official Pick: Packers +2
Our second pick will be between two teams that are in unfamiliar positions. We are heading to a match up between the Houston Texans and the New England Patriots. Both teams are desperate for wins. Houston is wanting to show its young quarterback that they can surround him with weapons. The Patriots are needing a win to keep pace in the AFC Playoff picture.
When I look at the Texans they are a team that can throw the ball and are 8th in the league in passing offense. While on the other side they are in the bottom third in just about every statistical category you can find except one, and that is pass defense. When you look at New England they struggle to pass but they are one of the best running teams in the NFL. They pick up chunk yardage and have a quarterback who can pick up key first downs. These two teams average a combined 51 points per game offensively and combine to give up 50 points a game defensively.
Official Pick: OVER 48
Official Pick: 14 point teaser (-140)
Packers + 16
Chiefs + 7
Vikings + 6
