WEEK 2! Sweep week?

Week two of the NFL is here! Last we split on our two picks. The Falcons and Eagles could not find enough points to cover our over. This week we bounce back with a few important early season match-ups!

Our first match up we will be heading to the AFC East to a match up between the New England Patriots and New York Jets. Last week was a great test for both young quarterbacks as they both had some struggles but also had some very encouraging plays as well.

New England comes into this game after a tough match up last week where they should have beat Miami. They made several mistakes that have cost them the game. I think that the Patriots have to be very encouraged at how Mac Jones played in his first NFL start. He was very composed against a very talented and well coached Miami Dolphins defense. I look for the Patriots to rely on the run game this week to help open up the play action pass.

On the defensive side of the ball the Patriots will be facing a talented young offense that will be missing several players. I look for the Patriots to show Wilson a lot of unique looks that will confuse the young quarterback. Last week Zac Wilson faced a lot of pressure. He struggled to get comfortable and find any sort of rhythm. With the success that New England has had over the years against the Jets we are backing the Patriots here.

Official Pick: Patriots -6

Our second official play will be in the Chiefs and Ravens match-up. This match up to me has a lot of interesting pieces and match-ups. The Chiefs will be returning some key players and arguably the most important piece on defense in Mathieu. Baltimore on the other hand continues to lose key pieces. The Ravens just can not catch a break. They have several players out and both Marlon Humphries and Jimmy Smith are questionable along with Campbell on the defensive line.

First we will look at the Chiefs side. This offense is explosive, that is not a secret. I look for them to be able to move the chains and find big plays deep behind this bear up secondary. The match up that will decide the game is the Chiefs defensive line against the Ravens offensive line. Baltimore will be without Stanley and will move Alejandro Villanueva from right tackle to left tackle. Kansas City will be getting back Frank Clark this week to go along with Chris Jones who dominated last week against a very good offensive line. If the Chiefs can contain Lamar Jackson while creating pressure with the front four they will be able to slow down this Ravens offense. I think this is the difference in the game and that is why we are rolling with the Chiefs on the road.
